How can I access the NY Times online?
Access to New York Times digital site, nytimes.com
Answer
RVCC students, faculty and staff can create accounts for free access to NYTimes.com through the Library. To create your account:
- Go to https://library.raritanval.edu/NYTimes
- If prompted to login to RVCC, use your G# and password
- When you reach the New York Times site, create an account using your RVCC email address or other linked account (Google, etc)
- Once your account is created, you can go to nytimes.com and use that account to login for full access
- You will have 12 months of access. After that time, you can renew your account if you still have an active RVCC email address
If your account has expired:
If you have previously been using nytimes.com and are now being asked to subscribe, or it shows that your account is no longer active, your 12 months has expired and you need to re-authenticate through the library website.
- Go to https://library.raritanval.edu/NYTimes
- Enter the RVCC email address you originally used to create your account (this may be firstname.lastname@, or you may have used your Gnumber@, or you may have used your first initial, first three letters of last name and last four digits of your Gnumber @stu.raritanval.edu.
- Once completed, you will be subscribed for 12 more months. The re-authentication process must be done every year and you must be an active student or employee to continue having access through RVCC.
